About Us

The Isle of Man is an Island situated in the middle of the Irish Sea. We have many beaches and glens and villages to enjoy.

The Island Federation was set up in 1950 and has been involved in many events over the years and taken an active interest in island life. 

We have 21 Institutes on the Island with over 500 members. Each WI has its own personality with a variety of Speakers and activities to choose from such as craft clubs, book clubs,  walking groups and coffee & chat groups. With a variety of outings around the Island. 

Each month you will receive a monthly newsletter called LAA MIE with all the news and events and information of the Federation and WIs. 

Both day and evening meetings are available and if there isn’t a WI in your area you can always start a new one with the help of the Federation WI Advisers.

There are many ways to get in touch with us such as by email, Facebook, telephone or good old pen and paper. 

The WI is open to all woman of voting age and above and with the membership this brings new interests and friendship along with getting involved in local and national campaigns. 

We have a varied programme of events for the members, some are organised by individual WI’s and others by our four main sub-committees.
